Prayer Before the
Blessed Sacrament
O Jesus,
You are a priest and victim. We praise You and we bless You because You have redeemed the world.
We thank You for Father Verbis Lafleur, a “Man Among Men.” He celebrated Holy Mass. He adored you in the Blessed Sacrament. He was Your priest who reconciled us to You and inspired “his boys” to greater faith and life in You.
He became a victim in living Your priesthood. His love was Your love. We pray that we can love like You, O Jesus.
We ask that the whole Church can know him and be inspired by his priesthood and victim-hood to follow You more intensely in a loving example.
May Father Lafleur be Beatified and raised to the Altar of Sainthood. Amen.
Prayer for the Canonization of Father Verbis Lafleur
Almighty Father,
Your Loving Son Jesus Christ declared, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend.” Upon the Cross He fulfilled those words, and gave us an example to follow.
I humbly implore You to glorify Your servant Father Joseph Verbis Lafleur. As a disciple, he practiced the virtues of faith, hope, and charity. As a priest and Army Air Corps chaplain, he served You humbly. In heroic fidelity to the example of Your Son, he laid down his life for his men, his friends.
Through the intercession of this Servant of God, Joseph Verbis Lafleur, hear my prayer: (mention request). And grant that I too may love and serve You by working for the salvation of souls. Amen.

O, God of Goodness,
You never tire of sending us examples of Your love. You called your servant Father Verbis Lafleur to the Priesthood from an early age and kept him in Your sight. In the fulfillment of time, he willingly offered up his life for his God and his country.
Far from home on the battle fields of the South Pacific, O Lord, You were with him. You were with him in the prison camps. You were there, as he healed the spiritual wounds and comforted his comrades.
May we all be blessed by his holy and heroic life, as he was doing Your will. Our loving God, lead us to charity and allow us to receive the favors we ask through Your good servant Father Verbis Lafleur (name prayer request).
We ask this through Our Lord, Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You forever and ever. Amen.
