The Catholic Chaplain’s Monument
Eighty-three Catholic military chaplains, including Father J. Verbis Lafleur, who gave their lives in war are honored at Arlington National Cemetery.
The monument, an unpolished granite stone with a bronze plaque, was erected on May 21, 1989, on Chaplains’ Hill by the Archdiocese for the Military Services. The monument's inscription reads, "May God grant peace to them and to the nation they served so well."
