Bronze Plaque Dedication | Notre Dame Seminary
Father Lafleur was the first alumnus of Notre Dame Seminary to give his life in the service of his country and to begin the process for Canonization.
On November 21, 1951, some 95 members of the Notre Dame Seminary Alumni Association met at their Alma Mater. A bronze plaque was dedicated to the memory of Father Lafleur as he was the first alumnus to give his life in the service of his country.
Among those in attendance at the ceremony were his mother and Archbishop Rummel. The plaque hangs in the foyer of the Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, to this day.

On November 27, 1951, Notre Dame Seminary Alumni Association dedicates a bronze plaque in the main lobby to Fr. Verbis Lafleur with his mother, friends, and family in attendance. Fr. Lafleur is the first alumni of NDS to begin the process of Canonization.
